Where every child can play, learn, share and grow together in a healthy and dynamic environment...
In India, almost 160 million children are studying in 1.1 million government schools. Of these, 47% do not have toilets for girls, thus forcing them to defecate in the open or wait till they get home. Of the schools having girls’ toilet, 61% lack privacy and almost 32% toilets are non-functional.
So, Yuva Unstoppable in association with Roquette Riddhi Siddhi, launched a unique reform initiative called 'Evolution', in June 2013. Under this Initiative, Yuva, with the help of its corporate donors, works to improve children’s learning environment by building/installing, upgrading and maintaining sanitation and other basic infrastructure facilities in selected municipal schools.
Workshops/campaigns related to improving daily habits and behaviour of children are also conducted. Till now, more than 100 corporates such as Kotak, Torrent, Waghbakri, Roquette Riddhi Siddhi,Beefy’s Charity Foundation The Grand Bhagwati, Ratnamani, and the likes have helped transform 300 schools, nationwide.
As the term 'evolution' denotes, Yuva believes in creating sustainable changes, and so yearly Audit is done by KPMG and Impact Measurement is done by Prof. Naman Desai, faculty member of IIM Ahmedabad. Evolution aims to become one of the largest school reform projects in India.
