With the aim of transforming the lives of students 360 degrees, Amitabh Shah founded Indian charity Yuva Unstoppable awards educational scholarships to meritorious students from socio-economically weaker sections of the society to support them complete their education. The main challenges for these students were fees for higher education and the lack of technical guidance for special fields. It barred them from getting admission into some of the premier institutes of education across the country like the IITs, IIMs, etc. despite their calibre and potential. To break through these barriers of financial inadequacy and limited resources, Yuva Unstoppable joined hands with Padma Shri awardee and former Indian cricketer V.V.S. Laxman to give wings to the dreams of IITians coming from less privileged backgrounds through Satyaram Scholarships.

That V.V.S. Laxman is legendary former Indian batsman and all-rounder is no secret, but he is also the man behind VVS Foundation incepted in 2012 with a vision to promote and hone the talent of young bright minds who cannot achieve desired results due to lack of resources, is known to a select few. The Satyaram Scholarships were instituted in the name of the former Indian cricketer and philanthropist’s parents in the year 2016. They are being facilitated through Yuva Unstoppable wherein students with a minimum CPI of 6.5 (CPI is not applicable for first-year students) and whose family annual income is not more than INR 3 lakhs are awarded scholarship upto 4 years until graduation, subject to maintaining required CPI.

As a part of this initiative, Yuva Unstoppable has also organized special career support and guidance sessions for the scholarship awardees with none other than the man himself – V.V.S. Laxman. He has been mentoring on physical and mental fitness via zoom sessions and live meetings regularly. Not only the students, but the faculty members have also been inspired hearing his stories of grit and commitment. Keeping intact the ‘pay-it-forward’ culture, the Satyaram scholarship awardee is expected to financially help at least one needy IIT student in future. Through its on-going efforts, Yuva Unstoppable has awarded 1000+ scholarships, out of which 25 scholars are studying in 4 IITs i.e. Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, and Guwahati.

  1. S. Santosh Kumar is a bright & diligent kid from an impoverished family in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh whose father did not have enough money to enrol him in coaching classes for the IIT entrance exams until few years back. Today, Santosh has not only secured admissions into one of the most reputed institutes of education – IIT Gandhinagar due to his ‘never-say-die’ attitude but has also been successfully placed!

“I am so so thankful to V.V.S. Laxman Sir, Yuva Unstoppable and IIT Gandhinagar for supporting us with the admission fees of the institute of my dreams. I can now proudly think about giving all the happiness to my parents that they had ever wished for me because the doors of opportunities that Satyaram Scholarship threw open”, says an excited Santosh.

Another young and hardworking girl that these scholarships supported is Aparna Ambarapu from an Indian middle class family who got admission into IIT-Hyderabad. “I am privileged to be receiving Satyaram Scholarship. It helps students like me to achieve great things in life, pursue their interests, and chase their dreams. Education gives you an identity and this scholarship helps you get on a transformational path to build that identity through higher education”, believes a confident and optimistic Aparna.


At Yuva Unstoppable’s launch event for Satyaram Scholarships, V.V.S. Laxman revealed the idea behind this powerful initiative, what led him and his wife Shailaja Laxman towards such philanthropic pursuits, and from where the inspiration to partner with Yuva Unstoppable came. “When my wife and I thought deeply about it, we immediately knew that if we wanted to build a legacy and give the greatest gift of life to children, it can only happen by providing equal opportunities to quality education for all regardless of their cast, creed, religion, socio-economic background. And I am so happy that Yuva Unstoppable is supporting us take our vision to so many children. What I am doing is only a drop in the ocean, but what Amitabh Shah and his wife Mrs Rashmi Shah are doing is an ocean. I urge you to support Yuva Unstoppable in their efforts.”
